FAQ's and How to get the Most!

What does Insurance On Demand do?
  1. Our main role is to work for you to help advise and navigate your insurance shopping among many carriers rather than just one! WE WORK FOR YOU SO IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH A CARRIER WE CAN ALWAYS HIT THE MARKET LOOKING FOR ANOTHER ONE!
  2. When your carrier rates change too much or your coverage needs change we help find the current best rates and coverage levels for your specific situation.
  3. It is important to know that we have many clients with constantly changing situations. Please be sure to review our client service plans here to help us all prioritize how important your insurance is to you.
  4. While many service functions can be handled by you on the various carrier apps here or our apps here, we are also on standby to assist at anytime by contacting us, especially if your are one of our service plan members.
  5. It is very important to know that we do not handle or keep ANY of your insurance premium money goes to your insurance carrier that you have chosen with us. If you are due a refund at anytime it will come from the carrier and we do not have any insurance premium money to return to you. If you have questions about any refund please contact your carrier.

Insurance Cancellations and Refunds
  1. If you want to cancel, remember that we are independent and can look around for better rates and coverages if needed.
  2. If you need to cancel due to moving or combining policies with a spouse remember we are licensed in many states and also are more than happy to combine policies with carriers we use.
  3. If you do need to cancel with us OR you are cancelling with your current carrier do to coming on board with us you maybe entitled to a refund. If you cancel "mid-term" you usually will get the pro-rated amount back to you. ex. 1, you cancel your auto policy about halfway through your monthly billing cycle even though you paid the bill for the month. In general, you would get about half of your payment back from the carrier. ex. 2, you switch your home insurance a few months after the annual bill was paid for by your mortgage company escrow account. In general, you will get a refund for the remaining months that the insurance company is no longer providing coverage for. It is important to note that usually you need to send the home insurance refund check BACK INTO YOUR MORTGAGE ESCROW ACCOUNT.
  4. Reminder that ALL refunds come from the insurance carrier because they possess all of your insurance premium money and not from Insurance On Demand.

Should I file a Claim?
  1. Each situation and policy is unique so it is important to know the specifics of your situation.
  2. Most policies do have both property and liability coverages of which may or may not be subject to a deductible. It is important to know what your policy coverages are so please review and have us set review reminders.
  3. It is important to know how much the damage is as it relates to your deductible.
  4. The deductible is the portion of damages that you will be responsible for in a claim situation. ex. 1, your fence is damaged and results in $2,000 of damages and your deductible is $1,500. It may or may not be worth it to you to start a claims history for the insurance company to only pay $500 of the damages. ex. 1 continued, if your deductible was $2,500 then a claim should definitely not be filed because the carrier is paying no expenses of the fence damage bill. ex. 2, a Hail Storm destroys your roof resulting in $8,000 in damages so it is more than likely beneficial to open a claim based upon the insurance carriers ability to pay a large portion of that bill, depending upon your deductible. ex. 3, this same analysis could also apply to automobile situations as well depending on policy coverages and deductible levels.
  5. Each client holds the final decision of whether to open a claim or deal with the damages on their own, based upon their own risk tolerance and financial analysis.
  6. As always, feel free to ask us!

How do I file a Claim?
  1. If this is an Emergency please call 911.
  2. The fastest way to file a claim is to do it directly through your carrier on their Phone App or also their Website. You can find several links on the website HERE.
  3. You can also contact us if you need further directions.
  4. You will need to have important information such as your policy number, basic facts of the possible claim like date, time, description and any police report information if available.

What is the Claims Process?
While each carrier and situation maybe different here are some of our recommended highlights.
  1. Gather an estimate for the damages.
  2. Check you policy deductible via the Carrier App, our App or call. Our recommended Apps are here that link your policy. You can also find additional carrier apps that may apply to you HERE.
  3. Once your carrier determines if it is covered and assigns an adjuster to the claim try to connect whomever you have chosen to do the repairs and the adjuster as soon as possible so they can start communicating. This is very important because the repair person will want to be sure they are paid for their work and will want to stay in touch with the carrier.
  4. Try to have the repair contractor and the insurance adjuster communicate as much as possible to alleviate your stress in the situation.
  5. Get involved if there appears to be some major breakdown in communication and service in the claim situation.
  6. Contact us to explore further as well as needed.
